Jenny Slate Lee
I am grieving. 2020 took so many things from me. I never imagined watching my beautiful Mom take her last breath. I never imagined that both of my parents would leave this world when I still had so many things I wanted to say and memories I wanted to make with them. I never imagined being suddenly responsible for my special needs brother while raising my own two children. But I also never imagined what love, real agape type of love, that could happen in the middle of it all. It is easy to hide away in my sadness, and I may continue in that space for awhile. But this love has taught me that if I hide in my darkness too long it doesn't allow the light to flood in and heal those wounded places. So with this, I am exposing my grief in the only way I know how to, through music. I wrote this special song with another friend who has been walking the grief journey since her husband passed away.
There is hope in the process of grief. When we allow ourselves to feel it unapologetically, that is when we find the good in grief.

Jenny Slate Lee
A singer/songwriter, producer and worship leader from Nashville, TN. Jenny grew up the daughter of hit-maker and artist manager, Johnny Slate. She quickly learned the craft of songwriting and fell in love with it. When gifted her grandmother's upright piano at the age of 7, she taught herself to play and by 17 she signed her first publishing deal.
With numerous national and international tours under her belt, Jenny settled back in Nashville with her husband where she dove into serving the church. She is a sought after award-winning vocalist, recording for major companies such as Disney. Jenny is one of the rare few to have received a perfect score on the hit tv show "Star Search" with Arsenio Hall. She was also chosen to film a CBS pilot about songwriters with Gene Simmons.
After the birth of her two children, she took a break from the industry to embrace motherhood. During that time, she found her heart and authentic voice in leading worship. This led to an overflow of songwriting and a call over her life to help others encounter God through music.
